What our Therapy Assistants do

Assistants work on the same goals as our Occupational Therapist. They are able to work with young people in between their therapy sessions or to substitute therapy sessions in some cases. Similar to the Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants are focused on building capacity and increasing independence.

Therapy Assistants are provided with a therapy plan to implement from the Occupational Therapist that is reviewed regularly as the young person progresses. Therapy Assistants are a great way for young people to practice the skills they are trying to develop on a more regular basis.
