About Us
Rising Youth Occupational Therapy provides Occupational Therapy, Therapy Assistance and Support Work services to neurodivergent pre-teens, teens and young adults in the Northern, Eastern, South Eastern and inner suburbs of Melbourne as well as telehealth Australia-wide.
We understand that teenage and young adult years come with new levels of responsibility and challenges. Our aim is to support young people to achieve their goals by breaking down the barriers that are preventing them from participating in activities that are meaningful to them.
What makes us different
We recognise that the therapy and support required for teenagers/ young adults is very different to those of children or older adults. Our services are specially designed to benefit individuals in this stage of life.
We celebrate the strengths and differences that neurodivergent individuals bring. We aim to provide support that honours and respects these differences instead of trying to change them.
Our session times are catered to you. We do not want young people missing out on school to attend our therapy appointments therefore we provide evening appointments as late as 7 pm.
We work on real-life skills that your young people will take with them for the rest of their life.
Who We Are
Occupational Therapists
We AHPRA registered OTs with a passion for neurodivergent youth. Our OTs have several years of experience supporting independence in daily living skills, emotional regulation and sensory processing goals. We use a client-centered, strengths-based approach when working with young people. Our interventions look at the big picture and may involve developing new skills, introducing strategies, advocating for more supportive environments and modifying tasks to suit the needs of the young person.
Support Workers/ Therapy Assistants
Whether it’s accessing the community, attending social events, getting ready in the morning or preparing a meal, our fun and passionate Support Workers/Therapy Assistants can assist and support capacity building and engagement in all areas of daily life. All of our Support Workers/Therapy Assistants have experience working with neurodivergent young people and receive training from our Occupational Therapist.
